Mölln
Hindenburgstraße
23879 Mölln
On first impression, Mölln can be described as idyllic. Surrounded by thick forests and vast fields, eight lakes and the historical Elbe-Lübeck Canal enclose the town - making it seem like a peninsula. The Eulenspiegel town lies ca. 25 kilometres south of Lübeck amidst the Lauenburgische Seen Nature Park. The town’s silhouette is dominated by the mighty tower of St. Nicholas’ Church, built early in the 13th century – when the history of Mölln began. Visitors will be wowed by the town’s picturesque location, as well as the quaint, half-timbered houses in its narrow lanes. Till Eulenspiegel is one of the most famous people to have visited the town. The rogue is said to have spent his final days here. Nowadays he waits for curious visitors to the market square at the foot of St. Nicholas’ Church. You might also bump into him elsewhere because, as a council employee, Eulenspiegel ensures that this enigmatic character and his at times anarchic pranks continue to live on to this day.

Eulenspiegel Museum
The museum is dedicated to the special relationship between Till Eulenspiegel and Mölln, and features paintings, graphics and sculptures. They say that the prankster died here in 1350. The memorial stone on the wall of St. Nicholas’ continues to remind us of Germany’s most famous jester today.

St. Nicholas’ Church
The chapel, which soars above the historical market square, houses a plethora of spectacular exhibits and distinctive historical features – such as opulent ceiling and wall paintings, the monumental ‘Triumph Crucifix’ and the oldest image of the townscape from 1578, which you can see at the church’s entrance. Completed by 1250, there was also an extension built in the 15th century. The town parish church has been named for St. Nicholas, the patron saint of merchants and sailors.

Wildlife Park
Two circular trails lead visitors through the forest landscape in the heart of the Lauenburgische Seen Nature Park – which is beset with woods and lakes. The semi-natural landscape is dominated by mixed, old-growth woodland, but there is also nutrient-deficient moorland and glacial debris, including kettle holes created during the last, Vistulian Ice Age to discover. Aside from the large, open fallow deer enclosure and an enclosure for wild boars, there are numerous enclosures for smaller animals and a petting zoo, offering direct contact with the creatures. Many local birds of prey, as well as crows, little owls and eagle owls, complete the menagerie, along with a 1500-litre aquarium that houses animals and plants from the lakes of Mölln. Main entrance: Birkenweg
