North Sea: 6-day tour

The round tour of the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein begins in Brunsbüttel and takes you through the coastal resorts of Büsum, Tönning and St. Peter-Ording to the town of Husum. An excursion out to sea will bring you to the islands of Amrum and Föhr or to the Halligen. Then the route heads towards Sylt. Back on the mainland again, the return leg goes via Seebüll with its Nolde Museum. This is followed by a visit to Friedrichstadt.

• ‘Blanker Hans’ storm ride

DAY 2

• Büsum - Tönning (38 km)
• Multimar Wattforum
• Tönning - St. Peter Ording (24 km)
• Walk along the beach
• West Coast Park and Seal Centre
• In case of bad weather: Dünentherme leisure and water park
• St. Peter-Ording - Husum (47 km)
• Castle near Husum with castle gardens
• Overnight stay in Husum
   

DAY 3

• Husum: tour of the town ‘on the trail of Theodor Storm’ or
• Shipping Museum
• Husum - Dagebüll (41 km) - Föhr
• Ferry crossing from Dagebüll to Föhr
• Tour of the town of Wyk on the island of Föhr
• Visit to the Frisian village of Nieblum on Föhr
• Overnight stay on Föhr
   

DAY 4

• Föhr - Amrum (ferry)
• Walk round the town of Wittdün
• Visit to the lighthouse in Wittdün
• Walk along the Kniepsand beach
• Overnight stay on Amrum
   

DAY 5

• Amrum - Sylt (ferry)
• Walk around the village and along the ‘Red Cliff’ in Kampen, Sylt
• Browse the shopping arcade in Westerland, Sylt
• Sylt Aquarium
• Overnight stay on Sylt
   

DAY 6

• Shuttle from Sylt to Niebüll (1 hour)
• Drive from Niebüll to Seebüll (13 km)
• Nolde Museum in Seebüll
• Seebüll-Friedrichstadt (78 km)
• Tour of the town with canal trip
• Return to Hamburg (132 km)
